SCHILLER ROUGH

The Schiller is mined together with the clear, the red, the green and the bi-color Oregon Sunstone.  Schiller is present in most of the Sunstone.  Mostly it's only desirable if it's in a high enough concentration to shine.  Sometimes, it interferes with the red or green and produces a sleepy stone with not an attractive color.

RED SCHILLER ROUGH

This is a superb example of a clean red with the Schiller flashing perpendicular to the face of the stone.  This piece of rough has only been washed in a tumbler with dish soap.  Notice how the clear surrounding the periphery has very little color to it.
